There are many reasons that people want to unsubscribe from the mailing list, and they are freely able to do so at any time. For some the list has met their need and they are ready to move on to a different phase of their life. Others will leave and come back as they need further support. Some will drop back in to say hi to old friends or to ask a question that has cropped up days, months and even years later. Others still will stay on the list to help others as they can. If you are unsubscribing because you have lost a child or decided to terminate your pregnancy, you may be interested in either the Angel Wings List or the Trisomy Choices List. Just click appropriate menu button on the left. If you are considering unsubscribing because you are going on vacation, you may wish to simply switch your account settings to "vacation". This will stop your email address receiving mail, however you can still post to the list. If you are unsubscribing because of the volume of email you may prefer to consider setting your mail setting to "digest". The digest is sent out once a day (perhaps more often if there are a lot of emails). It is a single email that contains all the postings to the list for that day. It also list the subject of the emails. Some people feel more comfortable receiving only one email a day, and some prefer to scan the subject lines in the index and only read them if there is something of interested posted. So whilst we are sad to see you leave us, remember that we will be here if at some time in the future you need the support. Three different methods for unsubscribing are described here. You can completely manage your own membership settings by going to the web face at www.freelists.org logging on and seeking out the list "tri-wings". Alternatively you can unsubscribe by sending an email to Tri-Family-request@freelists.org with the word unsubscribe in the subject of the email. Or simply complete the following web form After you have sent in your unsubscription request you will receive an email acknowledging that you have been unsubscribed. That email will also ask you to let the list owner know why you are unsubscribing. This is completely voluntary and simply allows us to help make the list the best that it can possibly be. Once you have successfully unsubscribed you will stop receiving messages from the list. If you have any problems subscribing, concerns or suggestions regarding the Trisomy Medical List please do not hesitate to contact Karen.
